Fantastic. The food is amazing, their Fiocchi with gorgonzola cheese is incredible. Service is good, wine list is nice. No complaints whatsoever here. BTW, if you try and park on Miracle Mile, you may experience a bit of traffic, park on the parallel parkings on Valencia, and you'll find ampful parking. Just the dish alone deserves 5 stars. What a great experience this place was.

I loved this restaurant!!! I took my boyfriend here on a Thursday night and the restaurant was empty, it only had two other groups in there eating. It played nice music and the setting was elegant. You definitely have to be dressed semi-formal. I LOVED IT!!! I even brought my camera :D I thought the parking right outside the restaurant was horrible. In Coral Gables, it's hard to find parking but you just have to wait till someone leaves. I got a spot within the first 5 min though so that was good. The food was excellent! I got a seafood dish, it was a shrimp pasta and it also had lobster tail in it and muscles. All the layout of the food was beautiful and the service was wonderful! I had the best time! I ended up giving a 20% tip, which I've never done.

What a pleasant surprise! A very good house chianti preceded some of the tastiest italian dishes I've had in years. Seemed to have been made with the best ingredients, perhaps even with love. Comfortable ambiance. Owner/host Anthony met us and was a gracious host who remembered our names an hour later. Going back for sure.

3.5 stars. I really enjoy this place. It has a nice, cozy atmosphere and some very good food at fair prices, even if they have creeped upwards along with inflation. Do not come here expecting authentic Italian. This is hearty, Americanized fare, without a strict respect for the original or regional style of the dishes, so much as good flavor. The focus is on sauce flavor rather than the pastas themselves. Expect a hint of cream in some dishes not traditionally using it. Some of my favorites include the Arrabiata, Puttanesca, Bolognese, either of the calamaris apps, eggplant rolled with mozzarella (rolatini), and the bordering-on-dessert burratta. They currently feature a comprehensive selection of $25 bottles of wine, and a few themed nights, including risotto and meatball night.

Anacapri in Coral Gables is one of three restaurants of the same name in south Florida. We dined here and had a very pleasant experience, settling in for comfort food on a chilly winter night. The two-story space (the second floor is often used for private parties) is warm and attractive, with a liberal use of wood inside to help create a trattoria-like atmosphere. It is centrally located in the north Gables on Ponce De Leon Boulevard surrounded by restaurants, shops, art galleries, etc. We started with a Lentil Soup and Caesar Salad ($7.00). The soup was warm and savory, with pasta, escarole and prosciutto chunks liberally added and a perfect foil to a cool winter night in Miami. The Caesar Salad also pretty much followed tradition and was well-executed with crisp romaine and falvorful dressing that didn't seem to include anchovies (sob! We love anchovies). For entrees, we had Napolitano Veal Canneloni ($18.10 for the lentil soup/canneloni pasta combination on their special menu) and Risotto with Shrimp & Asparagus ($28.00). During the week, they have specials that follow a theme, and on Tuesday nights the theme is risotto. There were three different risottos to choose from on the night that we were there. Two nice-sized canneloni were served in a baking dish with creamy beschamel sauce, the veal filling that was smooth and satisfying. The risotto was a nice combination of vegital and seafood flavors and was supposed to be Carnaroli Rice, but the dish seemed more like Arborio Rice. In any case, it was creamy and cooked perfectly. A bottle of 1996 Faustino I (a bargain at $41.00 @anacapri/$29.99 retail @Kendal Fine Wine and Sprits) was a perfect compliment to our comfort food evening. The service was very attentive and professional. We have had chicken, veal and fish entrees in past visits to Anacapri and have found them all to be OK. The restaurant seems to excel in the simpler comfort dishes such as the appetizers and pastas.

I initially found out about this place during a company dinner. I don't remember what I ordered during that particular outing but I know what I wish I had...the Fiocchi! I initially turned my nose up at the idea of pear filled pasta until it arrived and everyone (and I do mean EVERYONE) was ranting and raving about it. So I gave in & sampled some from a coworker...now why did I do that? I wanted to snatch this dish from her but I refrained. I was to die for! I was kicking myself all the way home for not ordering it. I thought about it so much that I returned a week later with a group of people for my birthday dinner just so I could order the Fiocchi. It is now my absolute favorite & my guest adored it as well. Enough about the food, lets talk about the restaurant. The service, both times, was very stellar & genuine. The interior design is beautiful. The portions are generous and the ambiance is perfect. I high recommend this restaurant and the doggone Fiocchi! :-)

Superb service with mediocre food. Mainly a tourist location, with great service and high prices for the admittedly large portions. Calamari was better than most fried frozen ones, and a healthy portion. Wife's Cosmo was strong, expensive, and not correctly made. Eggplant Rolotinis were soggy and tasteless, as was the linguini with clams and wine sauce. 3 clams in the shell and some chopped canned clams mixed in. May as well have been Maggianos. But as I said, attentive service, clean, and large portions, but not great food. Also, parking can be a challenge. Better food but poorer service at Cafe Italia.

This is a baffling restaurant. It's in a great location in Coral Gables. It has a beautiful interior design. Very helpful staff in abundance. But on a Thursday night, we were the first an only patrons at around 7:00. A few more tables filled up but it was a very quiet night. We used to go to the Anacapri down south on US1 alot, an we always enjoyed it and we were never disappointed. Although, I wasn't disappointed here either, I also wasn't impressed. My chicken fracese was really good. It was lemony, tender, cooked just right. The pasta side was tasteless. My dining companions seemed to like their food, but you never know as they just talked, talked, talked. We got the ricotta cheesecake to share and like the restaurant itself, it was kinda good but somehow, something was just not right. Don't let me stop you from going here. This is a good quality restaurant that tries really hard. And that there is a good recommendation.

$18.10 for a 3 course meal?!?! SOLD! Went to Ana Capri last week before heading into downtown for a show and was pleasantly surprised to find that on Mon-Thur they offer a Recession Friendly menu with 3 different prix fixe menus, each with 3 courses, priced out at $18.10, $28.10, or $38.10 depending on the menu you choose. Obviously, the more expensive the menu the more options, and fancier options at that, you get to choose from. I found that the $18.10 menu had options for me though and so I just went with that. The lentil soup with cubes of prosciutto was absolutely delicious. Best soup I'd had in a while actually. I found out that they also make the soups to order- that's there's not just a big pot of it hanging out in the kitchen all day. I then chose the lobster ravioli- also very good. Not the best lobster ravioli i've ever had, but definitely good. My sister chose the other option- the Veal caneloni- it i tried a bite--also VERY good! I'll probably go fo rthat the next time I hit up this particular menu. For dessert we had a raspberry sorbet which was perfect for the end of the meal- light, cleansed the palate, and didn't kill the taste of our cranberry vodkas, which by the way were only $5 each since we ordered them before 7 ;) Delicious food, at a fantastic price, I'll definitely be back soon to take advantage of the recession friendly menu since it doesn't seem like our recession is going anywhere these days anyway.....

my cousins rehearsal dinner was at ana capri, the entire upstairs dining room was filled with close friends and family. the service was stellar. i mean they were right on point. my champagne glass was never empty, it was topped off constantly (which i paid for dearly the next day). the set menu had salad as the first course, choice of 4 entrees (fish, meat, and 2 pastas), and a choice of 2 desserts. and of course the bread basket, which was quite addictive. everything we ate was delicious. serving a large party and having everyones food come out fresh and warm isnt easy, but they pulled it off. i look forward to returning for a regular dinner.

Anacapri...not a big deal. I wasn't wowed, but I wasn't offended either. I heard from so many people that this was a great little place off of Ponce de Leon in the Gables. And, I really wanted to make this my new "Italian go-to restaurant", but I regret that I can't. Caprese salad had high quality prosciutto and was big enough to share. The entrees were adequate. Lobster Ravioli was a large portion, but it tasted a little too fishy. The pink sauce was just O-Kay. I didn't feel compelled to soak up the remainder with bread even if it is a display of bad manners. The Gnocchi dish tasted a bit too smokey since it was cooked with ham. Ham with gnocchi sounds like a match made in heaven, but it really is better in theory. Luckily, the tiramisu was fresh, fluffy, and fantastic. The service was satisfactory and friendly. It's a nice setting for a romantic or group dinner. It has a nice variety on the menu and it even offers an "economic stimulus" menu. If there wasn't any hype, I might have been impressed.

Let me start by saying that I grow up on Long Island and my experience in South Florida with Italian Restaurants has not been very good. This place is a hidden gem, the wait staff is top notch and very friendly and I have never been rushed even when the place is hopping. The interior design has a Tuscan feel, it's very relaxing all though sometimes loud. The wine list is a dream form top to bottom. We have had some of the best $25 bottles of Super Tuscan Wine that compare very well with bottles that I have paid three times the price in other restaurants in the area. The food is the star here, the Flochhi Paste is to die for, the Risotto was a little on the small side and was prepared to perfection, the fish special was Bronzino was cook just right and my personal favorite is the pork chop done my way with sautéed mushrooms and onions. I highly recommend this place, but don't tell to many people want to keep it a hidden gem

OK, maybe my first impression of this place wasn't awesome. We came back for my sister in laws birthday and on their "recession" menu they had Fiocchi... my absolute favorite. Small purses of pasta filled with pear and Gorgonzola cheese! mmmmmm Then for dessert they served me this gewy chocolate molten cake with vanilla ice cream.... Could it be they were trying to buy my affection? If that was the case it may have just worked!

Popular destination in Lil Havana. The French decor a little corny but food was delicious. Oxtail stew and lamb shanks were a great choice. Ofcourse you have to end it with a Cafe con leche

Sunday linner with my boyfriend is always a great time. We try to go to places we've never been to, and this was one of them. We walked in and dinner service was barely starting, so it was pretty empty. We were seated right away and given menus. I am a die hard pasta eater, so I was super excited. Our appetizers were pretty sub par. But our main course was fabulous. May or may not have been fresh pasta (probably not) but the portion was great, it was cooked al-dente and tasted delicious. I was disappointed by the dessert (canoli) but the coffee was great! Service was slow, which was surprising, since they weren't busy... at all. I'd definitely go back though.

On a whim, we decided on Anacapri as the location for our new years eve dinner. We went with the flow and got the New Year's Eve 5-course special with wine pairing. OMG, it was amazing. We started with Lobster Bisque paired with Italian Sparkling Wine, then scallops in puff pastry salad paired with white wine, the a choice of Veal stuffed with foie gras or Sea bass with champagne risotto paired with red wine and this lovely dinner ended with Panecotta paired with Ice Wine. We did not stay for the last course b/c it was a midnight toast of Lentil and Champagne (an Italian tradition). Even though it was suppose to be a tasting menu, the portions were twice the size than it should be. I think I was full before the third course got to the table and drunk half way through the second course. Nevertheless, we had a lovely evening and I can't wait to go back to try their regular menu.

Came here thursday night with my wife for dinner. Was told by a family friend that this place has great pasta. The digs are pretty nice...large for coral gables standards. Roomy and pretty comfortable setting. I think it's a really great place for a date. Most entrees run at $17-25..some seafood ones are higher..where as pasta alone are cheapest. Pasta is cooked al dente and the sauces for me at least seemed pretty light. Recommendations: Try the big mozzarella stick for appetizer..very delicious. and i highly recommend an entree that they do not have on the menu called Fiyochhi. Its hand-twisted ravioli with a yummy Pear-mashed filling. cooked al-dente and served with a creamy gorgonzola cheese sauce. Very Delicious! Ask for it..Fiyocchi (rhymes with Gnocchi) They are located on a street that has plenty of metered parking..and fortunately its not on a heavily-parked area so you should find a spot. y'know what, stop reading this and just go. NOW. and try that fiyocchi damn it!

I have to give it a Star? Can't I give it 0? My business group were going to Chu's Taiwan and it was closed on a Tuesday. So we had to think quick and fell into this place. Another one of those fake Italian restaurants. Unimpressive salad, and then got excited when I saw Pappardelle on the menu with tomatos etc. Never had a bad Pappardelle dish up till now, but I do not appreciate a jarred horrendous sauce being used ( could have just been too much tomato paste mixed with tomato sauce) and as a bonus order spinach with oil and garlic that turned out to be mashed crap. Peers also did not like it. Would Non-Italians stop cooking Italian food PLEASE?

We attended the monthly Tuesday wine tasting & food event and it was truly a great experience. The wines and food selections were excellent and with owner's Giuseppe and his wife it had a family atomosphere. New friends were made, a good time was had by all, and we are lookng forward to next month's event!

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. Great location. Great food. Ask for George's chocolate martinis. Restaurant manager Alfredo is like an old friend insuring you are delighted with your meal. I have never had a bad meal, and our family eats here at least twice a month.

Michelle H. is spot on, the lobster tasted as if it had been cleaned with fresh water and the risotto was disappointing. We complained and they gave us one entree off our tab, so i give it the extra *STAR*.

I love Anacapri. The space is cozy and the staff is very friendly. Alfredo the maitre'd is very sweet and will remember you from past visits. And that in an age where customers are hardly ever appreciated is refreshing and will continue coming back again and again. The pasta is delicious. No, it is not the most authentic meal that you will have but I guarantee that you will not leave disappointed. I must have their bolognese or arrabiata at least once a month.Sometimes if I'm feeling crazy I'll have the rigatoni anacapri or the pear fioci which are two great dishes. The spedini is heavenly and the calamari is one of my favorites in the city. The meat dishes like the veal scaloppini and the chicken parmesan are wonderful. It's one of my favorite spots in Coral Gables. I hope you will be as satisfied as I always am when I come here.

i love this place. i have a serious obsession with their puttanesca sauce.but the reason i love this place isn't because the food is delicious (it really is) its because their prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. the maitre d' (alfredo) is AWESOME!!! he remembers what we like and is a sweet heart! they appreciate their regulars and for me that says a lot. im not a huge italian dessert fan (sacrilege?) so i stick with the pastas and the affordable wines ( i always leave a little (::cough cough:: alot ::cough cough::) sauced. its just a great atmosphere with simple and delicious food. ....great, now i want some food from there now lol on a side note, my rehearsal dinner was here and it was fantastic. very afforable, if you need to do an event their upstairs is nice and intimate and you get your own waiters.

I LOVE Anacapri. My family has been going there for years and we've never had a negative experience. They have the best penne arrabiatta in the city and the food is always made perfectly. One caveat is not to order take-out but as it's not really that type of restaurant it's not a concern. Such great service and food!

Ok, so I returned less than a week ago and I felt compelled again to review this marvelous place! We went in a group and ordered antipasti, and a warm mushroom and eggplant appetizer that's smothered in cheese. Everything was fresh and the flavors were crisp and shined through in each bite. As a main course, my bf had the lasagna (he didn't share) but by the time it was on the plate, I assume it was great! My cousin ordered the special of the day: stuffed cannelloni with ricotta and salmon in a cream/ pesto sauce! Savory, fishy, heavenly. Finally, I ordered the linguini carbonara. An apparently easy dish, however, these dishes in my option separate the boys from the men. It was salty, creamy, and not overly heavy. I kept wanting more and more. This place never gets old and am craving to go back! This is one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to bar none! I have been here a couple of times now, and I cal highly recommend the calamari, the seafood risotto, as well as the mushroom appetizer. The ambience is beautiful and romantic. It's a nice place for a baby shower or anniversary dinner. Well worth the price, this place is a gem.

Easy, consistent, and delicious. What more expect you from a staple restaurant in the gables? Anacapri is my frequent choice for everything from a reunion dinner with old friends or to easy meals during the week. I also love their monthly wine tastings; I am always blown away by their incredible wine selection too! I love when the chefs have fresh shaved truffle on menu! SO gooooooooood.

Warm environment. Food was decent but nothing to brag about. I agree! I don't understant all these exaggerated positive comments. The service was horrible. Our waiter Fernando was too busy waiting on a larger table and hardly ever or NEVER came to our table because we were not too big for his pocket. He took a long time to bring the bill and double time to pick it up. I will NEVER step in there! I heard some people are paid to write good reviews in Yelp, this is an honest review. Don't expect the best Italian food in town 'cause is NOT! Worst service!

Pasta is not bad, but the veal is terrible hard dry and paper thin. When you mention it to the waiter he seems amused and offers no apology. Will never return.

This is an OK Italian restaurant. The food is hearty and well priced. My favorite dish is veal parmasian which is not on the menu. In summary Otis a decent place but there are better albeit more expensive restaurants in the neighborhood.

We went there this past Sunday evening with our children & we couldn't have left more satisfied!! There wasn't a wait whereas other restaurants in the area had people waiting outside, so we figured with a toddler in tow that this would be the restaurant to try. So glad we finally did. Once we arrived the hostess was very welcoming & extremely attentive, we were sat down without a long wait & given a table in a corner which is always convenient with a high chair. The host began to take our order seeing that we weren't yet greeted by our server but then out of nowhere Fernando appeared & from there on out he never went MIA, but it also helped that everyone there worked together. We started off with the calamari, scallops & the sliders, the calamari was good but nothing to make it stand out. On the other hand the scallops were perfectly done, they came with 5 scallops that were very juicy & fresh!!! The sliders OMG, all I can say is I'm very picky with meatballs being a Long Island girl so you can imagine my husband was very surprised that I even tried them. So so glad I did, there were 5 of them which each one had a half of meatball but they were perfectly sized & oh so juicy & the sauce was perfect. As for the entree I had the linguine with olive oil with the shrimp, lobster, clams & mussels. The clams & mussels were a little overdone but let's be honest that's not why you're ordering that dish, you're getting it for the shrimp & lobster which were perfectly done & definitely no toughness there. It is way too easy to ruin seafood & they seem to have there technique down pat!! My husband & son both had the pork cutlet which came with shoestring fries. My husband didn't leave anything on his plate which is how I know he's satisfied & my son said he also enjoyed his but he's used to me cooking it with a little more glaze. We didn't have any desert because to be honest there just wasn't any room. Paid the bill in a timely manner unlike some restaurants where the server tends to disappear. We couldn't have left more satisfied & we will definitely be back but we'd be sure to make a reservation that way we could be sure to have Fernando!!

Simply THE best Italian restaurant in Miami, bar none. No place comes close - the food is exquisite, the ambiance is pristine, and the customer service is sheer perfection. Ask for Elias, the manager. Also, GREAT for large parties and private functions - BON apetìt!

  • Anthony B.

I like this place a lot and they have some amazing Italian food. I think the quiet setting and great for a date or business lunch or dinner. For larger parties they have a room upstairs that is great and I would say they have a pretty decent wine selection as well

Ok, while I love Yelp...I feel like I need a decoder ring sometimes because of the extremely different reviews given to the same place. Of course I look for those who have more than one review to weed out disgruntled competition reviews or reviews by employees or the owners themselves. I really wasn't sure what to expect walking into Anacapri with so many 5 star reviews yet a number of one star reviews too. Here is what I got. The ambiance was very nice and the waiter did not rush us. We were two couples and brought our own wine...the $15 corkage fee was very reasonable. Based on the reviews here, we ordered the Fiochi as an appetizer for the four of us. Excellent....this dish is a must to try if you visit here. All of us had various entrees from Lamb to risotto and all of us were very pleased with our dinner. Sure it a little pricey but I'm not a stickler so much on price if the food is worth it, and it was. Valet parking makes it convenient to boot. I took away one star for the lack of service. By all means it wasn't the worst service I have seen, but a little lacking for a restaurant of this caliber. If in the area, I would definitely eat here again.

Came to this Italian restaurant expecting a good experience ended up throwing up all night. We ordered the risotto de mare witch was more like a soup covered in oil and the tuna Tartare among with other dishes that were beyond disappointing.I will be warning all my friend about this place that's apparently doesn't care about what they are selling and not to mentions my friends credit card got charged twice .What a disaster.Never going back!!!!

One word, yum. I felt transported to Europe with flowing bottles of old world wines. We had a number of appetizers, all of which were delicious: the caviar tasters (the truffle infused caviar was amazing!), eggplant rolatini, sautéed fresh calamari, and the fry calamari (which I preferred to the sautéed calamari). For my entree, I had the Rigatoni Anacapri with prosciutto, onions, and famous pink creamy sauce. I also added a side of broccoli rabe for some more greens. I loved the pink creamy sauce and joined the clean plate club. I didn't have room for dessert, but I stuffed down coconut sorbet anyway. All around this place was delicious. If I lived in Miami, I'd come back regularly!

I planned a birthday party for my wife in Anacapri's room on the second floor. I set up the arrangements with General Manager Elias Mendez. Elias and his staff outdid themselves Friday Night (6/14/13). My wife, our friends & family all had an amazing time. Thank you for providing the music, it was the perfect touch. You and your staff were extremely professional and willing to assist to our ever changing requests. Thank you to our Head Server Sergio for making sure everyone was satisfied throughout the evening. The wine, appetizers and main course were all great. Our friends kept raving about the food and wine selection. The private room upstairs is quite spacious. Our group of thirty had more than enough room to move around and enjoy wine prior to sitting down for dinner. I would reccomend it for any private party from a baby/bridal shower, bussiness dinner & even for a sporting event as there where two T.V.s in the room (we didn't use the them). There is also a small terrace with two sofas. The room has capabiitlities for a full bar both stand-up and waiter service. No walking or waiting for the servers to go to the main bar. My wife and I are looking forward to returng to Anacapri for a more intimate experience soon.

I decided to give Anacapri a try and didn't like it. Pasta I ordered, tortellini in "famous pink souce: was OK, nothing spectacular, but edible. My date's pasta with pears and gorgonzola was decent, a bit too sweet for my taste, but with a good sauce, and frankly better than the tortellini. I ordered profiteroles for desert, and they were the worst profiteroles I have tasted in my life. I would have given it three stars thouse, but the service was terribly slow, most of the time waiters were nowhere to be seen.

This is my first review on yelp! Sadly is not a good one but I'm sure the next one it'll be better because there are a lot of restaurants I like and have a good service. I leave around Anacapri coral gables and I have gone to dine there a couple of times but mostly my husband and I had ordered food, las time we went to eat dinner food wasn't great but I thought it was the dish I ordered but then tonight ( and this is why I decided to finally join yelp) we ordered some eggplant rotetini and manecottis, when I first got the first bite I felt like the ricotta on the manicotti was sour, spoiled, I gave some to my husband and he almost throw up because the taste was bad! We leave around so my my husband walked over there to talk to the manager and that's the worst part because the manager taste it and he pretended that that sour taste is normal in the manicottis (we had order that in the past several times and never were as sour as tonight) so instead of apologizing and offer a refund he continued to say they were perfectly fine, what kind of manager do that? My husband explained to him that I can get sick from that (I hope not!) because soft cheeses like ricotta can make you sick with salmonella but he didn't care. We have dine in the Pinecrest location and the coral gables one, we have been loyal costumers but because of the treatment we received tonight from the manager at the coral gables location we won't have diner or order food from there again and we will tell our families and friends to be aware with the poor service in that location.

I don't usually send in reviews but last nights meal was so dreadful, I feel compelled. The ambience: It started with getting to the restaurant and being seated near another party of about 12 who were celebrating a birthday. And they were really celebrating, which is fine. Unfortunately there were a couple of folks in their party who were cursed with the combination of not being able to handle their liquor, having loud, shrill and obnoxious voices that defied belief (the LeBron James of shrill, piercing voices) and that just never stopped, and more than likely had major issues in life aggravated by the alcohol. They were brutal. Like sitting next to a large jet engine at full throttle. So we moved to a far corner of the restaurant. It didn't help. The staff kept apologizing. The manager came by to apologize. The staff was nice but completely ineffective in getting these people to understand how disruptive and rude they were. You couldn't hear yourself think. Like eating in a room with wounded hyena. How is it people so lacking social skills have such piercing voices? The food: I liked the salad. My partner was unimpressed. I had Veal Parmesan, which wasn't on the menu (Chicken Parmesan was so I figured...). It was nice of them to accommodate me. Unfortunately the veal was tough, the tomato sauce scarce and the pasta side meager and costing extra if you get spaghetti instead of penne. My partner got the Saltibocca, which was also tough and lacking taste. The beverage: No Meyers Rum. Pino Noir, bitter. The service: Young but what was lacking in polish made up for with politeness and genuinely being nice. The bill: No appetizer, no desert and two glasses of wine. Over $100 for two. Could not wait to get out of there.

I decided to try this place on A Friday night during Miami spice and I must say that I'm not a bit impressed. I decided to eat off the Miami Spice menu and I got my favorite dish which is linguine ala Vongole. I have this dish everywhere I go and this is by far the worst! First off it only had 3 actual clams wtf?? The rest was minced pieces of chewy clams and low in taste. My daughters manicotti was eggy and not creamy. My son ordered crab stuffed snapper and we asked the waiter before we ordered if it was canned. He said no, its lump crab. Well it was not! it was 80% nasty bread crumbs 20% canned crab.It sucked! I I can't say it enough! Do not go here! The service took forever! Not even out appetizer was comped. We waited 45 minutes for our food :/ Dear Mr. Anacapri chef, I'd like to personally invite you to my home to teach you how to properly make linguine ala Vongole, a classic Italian dish. Should have saved $150 and cooked it at home! Very expensive for a hard working family. What a disappointment ! Got to Bugatti two doors down. It's way better Italian.

I regularly visit this place. Nothing but positive comments. I tired the fiocchi since I never heard of such a dish. I never thought pear and pasta would go so great together. The gnocchi here is the best I've ever had. It is absolutely my favorite dish there. Service is always at the top of their game here. The servers, the hostess, and bartender are all great. Wine selection here is another aspect to take note of. Just go there. ANY of their locations will not fail to disappoint. Tuesdays are a great time to check it out since they have pastas on special all day for just $10. Take the time to visit this spot when you can!

Some people go out to simply eat (boring) and others go out to enjoy each other's company, the food, the ambience and life. My beautiful wife and I go out for dinner at a minimum three nights a week, sometimes with the kids and others without. Since we noticed that Anacapri had more than one location, we decided to visit them all to test on the consistency of the restaurant. Our picks were: Tortalini Bolognese, Meat Lasagna, Pear & Gargonzola fidecco, Veal Rotolato. At ALL locations these dishes tasted the same DELICIOUS! I can't imagine why someone won't appreciate Anacapri. My only thought is that they are in lack of serious attention.

We had our wedding reception at Ana Capri on Ponce March 15. We are a gay couple. Everyone went out of their way (as I am sure they do for every one) to make sure that the event was flawless and It was. It was a magical evening that we will always remember. The food was excellent. The service impeccable. The venue just as we had requested. We were treated with respect and professionalism. We will always remember that evening. To the ownership, management and staff of Ana Capri, Thank you very much. Irma Diaz and Rachel Lauzurique

As I am dining tonight at this restaurant I promise myself I would never come here again. It took 10 minutes for the attendant to bring bread to the table to find out it was regular bread instead of Italian bread. As the server is taking our order, another server approaches him, whispered something in his ears and then he disappeared. The second server came and brought the wine and a beer we didn't order. He said it was the only beer they had when the first server mentioned they had few choices. The second server took our order and disappear. The first server approached the table and asked for our order so we had to direct him to the first server. What a mess!!! The server was arguing with the manager at the bar, the bartender was making silly jokes at the bar with other clients and to top it all the first server stopped to ask why we didn't like the beer? Well...well...well... The table on the back seemed to have issues with the food because the chef came out of the kitchen to address it. The food was just ok. The place is loud and the level of service is just as good as Sergio's. I am not keen on leaving reviews on restaurant experience but this was a bit disappointing. Oh and as I write this review the second server asked what did we want for desert without bringing the menus... Nice! I was going to wait for the bill to continue this review but I gave up!

I ordered their vitelli strambottica and fettucine alfredo and they were horrible. The pasta did not taste like anything, and the veal tasted like a dirty rag. Literally. I never knew what that meant until this day. Very disappointed.

Ordered the meat lasagna and let's just say I was not happy. Especially after I paid 17$ for it. The quality wasn't bad but there was very little meat with only one piece of lasagna pasta laid over it and then with cheese. I could have defiantly could have paid half the amount for better lasagna at pomodoros.

I walked in and felt a little underdressed, never the less the staff was very welcoming, the lighting was warm. We sat in a nice table right by the window and the server came instantly to ask us for our drink order. We went for Coral Gables restaurant week. I had never been and heard good things about the place. The service was good, our waiter answered all the questions I had about the fixed menu. For approximately $40 with tax and tip I got an appetizer, entree and dessert. I didn't take a picture of the dessert, but to be honest it was nothing out of this world, a chocolate filled pastry which was soggy. For the appetizer I chose the crab cake swimming in a pea purée, very original and tasty, as was the entree, a short rib lasagna.

First time here and definitely will be the last! From the very beginning there were some issues between the waiters and lots of miscommunication. We had two waiters asking the same questions and was very uncomfortable. I asked one for Heineken and he said there wasn't any so I ordered a Chardonnay. The other waiter comes and sees me with the Chardonnay is asked me what happened which I told him that his colleague said there wasn't any which indeed there was so he brought me my Heineken. The service overall was inconsistent. There used to be a sister restaurant in Miami Springs which I was a fan of unfortunately they closed it down so decided to try this one was sad to say was a big mess.

Always in search of new places to go, I stumbled on Anacapri on Ponce. The energy I got entering the restaurant was an authentic little Italy experience. Miami Spice is about to come to a close and they are a participant so I decided to partake. Off the Miami Spice menu, I choose the Tuna Tartare to start off my meal. I loved the presentation. For me, the fish wasn't cold, and so it did not taste as good but I liked the combination that was created. For my entree, I had the Duck Cannolini. It was enough duck, al dente pasta and the right amount of sauce but had a little too much cheese for my preference. My friend didn't do Miami spice and instead just ordered a meal off the regular menu which was the Lasagna. Unlike me he loves all the cheese and the sauce so he found it to be very good. Although he didn't order Miami spice and didn't deserve to get any dessert, I shared my Cannoli anyways. I shouldn't have because it was very small and I was left wanting more. My personal preferences aside, the food at Anacapri was very good. The hostess to the server as well as the other staff were very gracious and welcoming and for that I would go back.

Go there couple days a week. Super delicious pasta! Must try! I would say they cook the best pasta in town. Great and attentive service! Nice hostess! They have pasta for $10 every Tuesday. If u haven't tried their pasta. That would be a good day to go. Meatballs r a great dish too. Also, the owner is a super nice guy. They also have wine tasting every week. A Good place to meet wine lovers.

I truly don't understand all the positive reviews for this place. I came here to have lunch a couple days ago, and after Gusto Fino, Frenchies and Maroosh were all closed (what are the chances?) this place was close by so we decided to stop in. While this isn't the worst italian food I've ever had (that distinction goes to Casa Bella in Little Italy, NYC), it was pretty darn close. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu, which seemed to have some pretty solid choices. FALSE. The first course was a mozzarella with prosciutto. I didn't ever in my wildest dreams think this could be not good. It came on top of a tomato - which while already a bad mix for me, it was also the most bland flavorless slice of tomato I've ever had. There was also no olive oil or balsalmic either, just an olive, piece of artichoke, and sun dried tomato. An odd combination. The second course was gnocchi with brown butter, sage, and trufle oil. Again, I didn't think this was going to be anything but amazing. And yet, something was off. The meal was a bit salty, but somehow also lacking in flavor. It just fell flat. While my mango sorbet was good, my boyfriend chose the ricotta cheesecake for dessert, and this was the worst of it all. This ricotta cheesecake tasted exactly like a piece of warm cardboard. Why was it warm? Why wasn't it moist and creamy? I really don't know, but it was AWFUL. The place has a nice (although a bit stuffy) ambience, and while the service was very friendly and pretty attentive it was also surprisingly slow for a midweek lunch in the gables (where you would assume most people dining have to go back to work, sooner rather than later). With so many better options for italian, including some close by, I wouldn't waste my time here again.

I've had better experiences with food poisoning than I had tonight eating at this restaurant. I've not had a worse culinary experience in Coral Gables or anywhere in Miami in the last 7 years the service was glacial when it did happen, the food was adequate when they didn't burn the garlic for the pasta side and the management was dismissive to the point of rude when we presented our concerns. Just an all round abysmal experience.

The worst service, completely disorganized. The food looks like frozen Italian food. We had the server open our wine and he was gone for such a long time afterwards, we had to pour it ourselves!!!! They also lost our reservation and had us wait for about 30 minutes to set a table up. This is the first and last time I ever come here.

One of our favorite Italian restaurants in Miami. The Pear and Gorgonzola Fiocchi are to die for. We also love their Burrata (served with black cherries, tomatoes, evoo and balsamic vinegar) and the calamari saltati (a little spicy and yummy). Their pasta portions are generous; we usually share a plate and one or two appetizers. Our kids love the penne bolognese and this is one of their favorite restaurants. Service is outstanding everyone is nice and we feel welcome when we go.

We went on Friday evening for the Miami Spice menu. Although we had reservations for 7:30, the seating was only about 40% full which allowed for us to be seated in between empty tables. However, around 8:30 the restaurant was full so reservations were absolutely necessary to be seated. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and started with the burrata which was a good sized portion. The mozzarella was creamy and the addition of the sweet cherries made this a hit. This was the better of the two appetizers. The scallops were a very minimal dish with 3 small scallops and a palm full of fresh arugula. The scallops were tender but could have used a bit more seasoning and sear. The lamb chops were perfect, cooked medium rare, tender and well seasoned. The mint au-jus was very layered with flavors. The broiled lobster tail was tender with just enough seasonings. The lemon risotto was also perfectly seasoned and cooked. The profiteroles were good but the chocolate anacapri was the better by far. A chocolate cake filled with dark chocolate, white chocolate and caramel sauces with a dollop of vanilla ice cream. They also offer a $15 corking fee for your BYOB of wine which we took advantage of. Black napkins are also the standard there so no white lint residue left on nice clothing. Upscale casual ambiance, professional servers, quality food, and corking fee makes this a visit especially for Miami Spice fixed pricing.

Went here for the first time with another couple for Sunday dinner. Service was good . Made the mistake of ordering the breaded pork chop instead of the lobster which my friends had. It was so dry that it almost tasted like cardboard. I asked for a side order of tomatoe sauce but it didn't help. I'm not sure if i'll go back

I judge an Italian restaurant from the type of olive oil they use. Their olive oil is below average. The food is not bad, but wouldn't go back because of the low quality olive oil.

Unfortunately, this used to be one of my favorites, especially when Alfredo worked here. I visited in January for my old man's birthday, and left extremely disappointed. Of the three wines we asked for, they carried neither. We had to settle for a recommendation similar to the wines we were craving. Compliments because they reduced the price to the first choice we selected! Service - meh! We ordered our calamari with lemon. They forgot the lemon. It took 13 minutes for someone to come by, so that I could even ask for the lemons. (Yes, I counted.) It then took them another 10 minutes to bring them. Not sure what the heck took them so long. At that point, our calamari were cold and inedible. The short rib risotto was very well cooked! I will say my two stars are just for how amazing it tasted. All in all, the service was extremely slow. It would have been better if those attending us acted as if they were interested. I also visited when celebrating my niece's baptism last fall. I thought it was such a disappointment because of the amount of guests at the event. Lesson learned: it's just not that good anymore.

I celebrated my birthday with my boyfriend at Ana Capri during Coral Gables restaurant week. My favorite dish was the white asparagus soup. It was creamy and flavorful, almost decadent, and had a hint of truffle. The other dish that stood out was the lamb osso buco, which was well-prepared. It was very tender and slid right off the bone. The staff was pleasant. They sang happy birthday to me and wrote "Happy Birthday" on my dessert. The mood of the restaurant varied depending on the room. In the front room, there was a lot of natural lighting and it was a bit louder. The back rooms are more dimly lit and are a bit more romantic. I am giving this restaurant 4 out of 5 stars because some of the other dishes, which I cannot remember what they were, were still well-prepared, but not exceptional. The restaurant is a bit too pricey for the experience.

Anacapri is a beautiful restaurant, but the food has hits and misses. the calamari and the sausage with mushroom creole, were very good, but duck and pasta that we had were not good!! my friend had a chicken dish that he liked. the service lacked follow up, at least as far as the silverware. i have had good pasta before, at Anacapri, so maybe it was a bad night, but there are better Italian restaurants to be had.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. I had lunch here today was was very disappointed. The food was excellent, however, the service was awful. There was no apology about the fact that our food took over 45 minutes to get to the table. No manager came to check on us. Overall not a good experience. I would not recommend this as a lunch spot.

I am a sucker for Italian and this place is my favorite in Miami. Before I get into the review - you MUST have the Fiochhi... decadently pear and Gorgonzola filled pasta with a mixed cheese sauce. It is to DIE for. The perfect balance of sweet and salty. I do not even like pear and I crave this often. I have eaten this dish at a couple of other place but no place compares. Delish! Ok - on to reviewing the restaurant. The atmosphere is wonderful, quaint, tidy, clean, view of the gables, large windows, pleasant live music from time to time. Everything on the menu which I have tried has been excellent (not that it compares to the fiocchi :) ).. They have a large selection of wine to choose from so be sure to pair your wine wisely. Even the bread they bring is excellent and the butter YUM! Also, their desserts are so rich and delicious. They SCREAM italy. I have tried their Tiramsu, a chocolate cake they have and one other but I forget the name. DELISH. Now I want to go there :(:( Someone - Lets go! lol If you love italian, this place is authentic and delicious. I recommend it highly but do not listen to me, TRY IT!

Had a delicious dinner tonight. Caesar salad was the best I ever had. Not heavy, creamy dressing; more of a lighter, fresher taste. Yummy, abundant croutons. Great wine recommendation from Giuseppe; he won't steer you wrong. My husband and son loved their dinners -- veal piccata and fusilli. Everything was delicious. Can't wait to go back.

Anacapri is one of the best Italian restaurants in Coral Gables. It's quaint and cute. I love that it's decorated with dark wood and wine bottles. It's the perfect date spot. The pasta is delicious and servings are big! The minestrone soup is very good as well. Highly recommend!

So being that we love Anacapri we brought Mommy here on a saturday night. Turns out we had the same server we've had twice before, he actually remembered my husband even though its been months. I wish I could remember his name, attentive, although he made a mistake with the bill. I think it was an honest mistake on his part but apparently the management doesn't feel like dealing with it. We gave 2 debit cards and more or less split the bill. He charged both cards the same amount instead of the different amounts on the signed receipts, so he charged $132 to 2 cards instead of $94 on one and $132 on the other. Mom calls Anacapri and the manager says he sees only 1 charge for $132 and its on the other card, asks for her to fax her bank statement showing the $132 charge. She did so and confirmed it had been received by a young lady at Anacapri who said she would let the manager know & he would follow up. 2 weeks later, still waiting for a phone call back. Mom went to the bank and she'll get her $ back. Apparently the manager doesn't care. So now we say NEVER AGAIN to Anacapri, and make sure you check your account for the correct amount billed!

I was very impressed with the food, and prices here. This isnfoodminwouldmbe served at a very good expensive Italian restaraunt and here is 1-2 the price. Started out with the calamari with hot peppers in a nice spicy tomato broth $10. Great prices huge portion the two of us couldn't even finish it. For my entree I got the chicken parmasean with choice orr salad, or penne. Then only this is they say no substitutions I would have loved it with spaghetti. The penne just to me doesn't go as well with the dish. The chicken was huge enough for 2 portion $20. I will be going back here. I made a reservation last minute because when we got ere at 9 Saturday night ever taken was taken.

This was a reunion of sorts for 4 ladies who haven't seen each other in many years. We appreciated being able to take our time and have a leisurely, quiet dinner. Service was great, not rushed, but attentive. Our dinners were tasty with ample servings. The only suggestion was maybe a little more sauce on one chicken dish.

Very disappointed in the experience overall at Anacapri. Ambiance was poor, very loud environment including the music, other guests, etc. The service was poor ... It felt like the team serving us could have cared less if we came or not. At least three wines from the wine list we selected were not available. An alternative more expensive bottle was offered but I would have expected some sort of gesture on price since they had nothing we ordered. We were charged a fee for sharing an entree even though we also ordered an appetizer and salad. The reaction of the waiter when we said we would share all of the things we ordered was shocking - I believe he rolled his eyes. Food was mediocre and over priced. Disappointing overall as we had high expectations before we arrived. Would not return.

I had another lovely meal at Anacapri last night. As usual, the fiocchi was to die for. I HIGHLY recommend the food here, and the service is always great. However, I wanted to come here and mention that I may not be going back to this restaurant for one very obnoxious reason. They had a cellist playing awful elevator music last night. He played so flat that I felt like I was in the midst of a horror movie. He was a full half-step flat pretty much at all times. It felt like someone was stirring my brain around with a chopstick. If I hadn't been with other people, I would have left. It was torture. I will be checking to make sure this guy isn't there next time I plan to go. If he is there, I won't be. It was really that bad. Management, if you're reading, please, for the love of God, get a new musician!

Came here with my hubby on a Friday night for dinner. When we first arrived, it was 7 pm and I was surprised that there were but two people dining there. Soon after though, more people started filing in. The service: spectacular. our server was very attentive, polite, and friendly. The food: best Italian I've had in a while. for appetizer we shared the plate of cheeses and deli cuts. the size was perfect for sharing between 2-3 people. my husband had the chicken francese and he devoured it. I had the special, shrimp and asparagus risotto. I absolutely loved my dish, it was so delicious! for dessert we had a ricotta cheesecake which was the only part of the meal we didn't enjoy. it was warm which was odd since cheesecake is usually chilled/cold. I loved how the restaurant was decorated. The atmosphere was very elegant but not stuffy. As for the wine, there was a large selection of bottles. We had Pinot Noir from Oregon which was delicious. $11 a glass. Overall, we had a great experience and the food was very good. I will definitely return.

I fell in love the moment I walked in and smelled the garlic. I've done various work dinners here and the food is always top notch. The upstairs room is great for entertaining, and since it's quieter it's better for work presentations. Okay, for appetizer I've had the calamari and the antipasto. It's pretty standard, but tasty and hits the spot... Now the real reason for my five stars is this: FIOCCHI!!!!! They're small tender purses stuffed with pear and gorgonzola in a cream sauce. It is my favorite pasta plate!!! Perfect mix of salty and sweet. It just makes my day every time I have it!!!! I've also had the steak and the Mediterranean fish. Both are cooked nicely. The steak has some sort of sweet glaze and the fish is perfectly grilled, which is nice if you're in the mood for a light meal. For dessert, I've had the canolli, which is yummy. In a nutshell, this place is consistent and worth going just for the fiocchi.. (pardon the spelling if it's wrong).

Some of the tastiest Italian food I've had! If you're looking for a fancy place that won't break the bank, look no further. The service is great, but this comes as no surprised based on the quality of the entire restaurant.

The best Tilapia I have ever had! customer service is great, they make their own pasta, the restaurant is clean and nice, a little expensive but worth it for a special occasion or you can try it now with Miami spice!

I had to write this review not because the restaurant deserve a five out of five but, rather, because a dish did. The pear and gorgonzola cheese ravioli (stuffed pasta) was amazing. After I ate it, I put it on a list in my iPhone under "Best Things I've Ever Eaten". Literally blown away. I still think about that dish, actually haha. If I could, I would give our waiter a 1.5/5 -- location a 2/5 -- design and comfort a 4/5 and general ambiance and clientele a 4/5.

I'd like you to meet my friend disappointment. She's come to visit me ever since I finished my meal at Anacapri. She danced around the table from the second we sat down, but it wasn't until I made my way to the car that I realized she was here to stay. Anacapri is a beautiful restaurant. It's currently decorated for Christmas, but if you take away the beautiful tree and hints of red and green, you're left with dark woods, a large bar, white table cloths, and a wine rack to rival most restaurants. We were greeted by a lovely hostess that chatted with me while Andrew filled up the rest of the meter (who carries change these days, honestly). She took us to a table by the window, which was appreciated because we could watch the wind whip outside, watch the Miami Heat game on at the bar, and avoid the large party. From here on out, things were hit and miss. The misses sadly overshadowed the hits. The hits: -The service continued to be stellar throughout the whole meal. -The negroni I ordered was good and strong. -The bread, while generic rolls, was soft and flaky. -The menu is large, but leans slightly on the higher scale of $$. -They have two prix fixe style menu options if you want to do the whole appetizer, entree, dessert thing for cheaper than buying things separately (which is what I opted for). -The scallops were some of the best I've had. They had a nice crunchy exterior, and remained moist and meaty on the inside. (Appetizer) -The lobster risotto comes with a 10oz (just guessing) lobster tail smack dab in the middle of the pile of risotto. A pleasant surprise. (Entree) -The portions were generous. The misses: -The negroni was $10. Wow, really? I didn't see what gin was used, but that was surprising. -The greens that came with my scallop appetizer had far too much balsamic dressing on them. It was overpowering. -The lobster tail was a little overcooked and chewy. -The risotto was insanely rich, and when paired with a massive portion, seemed way too much. You think the first bite is heaven, but it get progressively less heavenly. I was over it before half of my meal was finished. -The tiramisu was absolutely dismal. It appeared to be of the frozen-then-unthawed variety because the bottom layer was turning soggy and the marscapone had a hint of freezer in taste. -Two three-course prix fixes + two negronis + sparkling water = $95 + tax + tip. We left uncomfortable, ridiculously underwhelmed, and a with a whole lot less money. which was a shame because the place is beautiful and the service was genuine. It could have been my fault for hitting the prix fixe route, but for that kind of money, I shouldn't leave uncomfortable. I originally wanted something else, but was drawn in by the idea of getting to sample courses. Plus, it didn't help that I had the most delicious meal of all time a few days prior. That sets the bar pretty high. That said, disappointment sucks. I wish she'd leave soon.

Great upstairs room for a private party!!! Had a private party here recently & it went very well. The food was all pretty good...the pear & cheese ravioli stands out but the Lentil soup wasn't that memorable. We had about every appetizer on the menu which was all very good. I seafood risotto was good as well. The service was good. We had the whole upstairs to ourselves with a DJ which was perfect. The only down fall was it got soooo hot upstairs & that we had to keep going up & down the stairs for drinks...which prevented us from drinking as much as we liked...maybe that was a good thing for us. Cute place with good food if you are in the area or need a place to hold a private event.

Decent and good portions of italian food. The chicken parmigiana got better over the past year..sauce is more tomato-y (less herbs and spices) and portion got bigger. I didn't like the cesar salad as the dressing was off & romaine should be well chilled when served. I had a better cesar @ Villagio in Village of Merrick Park shopping center or at Christy's down the street when it was open. Another time I had the sea scallops on arrugula and met expectations. Wine selection is good. Desserts good.

Visited this restaurant on Sunday night with my father and daughter. We used to frequent the Pinecrest location and was happy to see that the newest location hasn't lost any of the quality of the previous one. The fried calamari was light and fluffy with an excellent marinara. The "house" Chianti and Merlot were also very nice. I ordered the Gamberi Fradiavolo, which was loaded with nice shrimp and seasoned perfectly (though a bit oily). My dining companions had lasagna and veal parmigiana, respectively. Both were very good. The menu (as the website says) "isn't anything fancy, but will keep you coming back". Great red sauce, wonderful desserts. If you're going to "the Gables", you need to check Anacapri out!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
